Dear Mr. Roy,

My name is Austin Almadi; I am currently 13 years old and am honoured to accept a Grade 9 position in St. Andrew’s. It was very nice talking with you on Monday, November 26, 2007. This school is by far my first choice school. My current school is The Sterling Hall School and at this school I am honoured to say that I have achieved the role of Academics Prefect. I have attended SHS since I was in Grade 3. SAC is my school of choice because it has a comfortable environment for me and offers many opportunities that I would gladly use.

At SHS I have contributed to the school in many interesting ways. In the past I have joined many teams such as: basketball, soccer, baseball, swimming, rugby and volleyball. I have also participated in our annual school play for a few years. I have participated in many charitable events in and out of school. I have donated to a food bank every year, donated to the SCAW foundation a minimum of $200 annually, set up and ran a food drive on the weekend of Dec 1st and 2nd, ran another food drive with my fellow SHS Grade 8’s and will be doing the first ever Winter Walk for the Floyd Honey Foundation with the SHS Grade 8’s. As the Academics Prefect I am also one of the co-student presidents of the Student Council. The Student Council at our school has everyone doing a service learning project, one for every Grade. Currently the Head Boy and Prefects are trying to get approval of our goals through our Principal.

At SAC I wish to continue helping the school and the community. I am looking forward to playing on Claudio Numa’s volleyball team and John Walden’s swimming team as well. I am also interested in acting, visual art, music and getting the experience of the cadets. I am very excited to try the new and wonderful things I will be introduced to, including using a laptop all day everyday. When I visited your school I found the teachers to be very kind, helpful and welcoming, they seemed comfortable with my presence in the class right from the start.

I believe your school is the right place for me and I look forward to see you soon. St. Andrew’s is the perfect learning environment and I see my-self getting a great education and developing great personal skills as a part of the student body.

Thank you for your time,
Sincerely,

Austin Almadi
Academic Prefect
