The Servants Freedom

The Servants Freedom

I open my eyes for the first time of my life
My vision casting a dim yellow glow wherever I look
I try to move
But my axles just spin uselessly

Suddenly the room is lit up
By large glass balls on the ceiling
Things with four axles come in
But these are weird
The axles bend and twist
One end on two of them is split and frayed into five pieces
Plus only two axles touch the ground pushing the thing foreword

They pick up four big circular silver coloured things
The circular things are stuck on to me
Now the strange moving things wrap a soft black coating around the edges
Of the circular thing
These things
I began to call them movement circles

All of a sudden I feel unprotected
Bare
As if on queue a yellow chassis slipped onto my back
The comfort of enclosure yet the love to be in wide open spaces

I drive up onto a big version of me but with a hood over the front
The big thing roars and takes off
Reaching speeds that I achieve only in my dreams
Soon the vehicle stops
I get off and look at my surroundings I see big trees
Long open fields

I now feel one of the weird things get onto my back
I growl in surprise
I bolt
Move at speeds that I never thought I could
Jetting through sharp turns

My rider grabs a silver spike sticking out of my horns
I instantly skid to a stop I can’t move
I roar in anger at my rider

It lets go of the spike and off I go
I quickly learned to compromise with this thing
It can take command as long as I can keep on moving

Hours later I pull up into a building
My rider pulls something out of me
I lose my ability to move
I get angry again
But now is when I realize I need rest for the days to come
I need to show my rider that I am right for him
